Granulation is an ancient fusing process utilized for thousands of years by the Etruscans and Mycenaeans. I alloy 24k gold down to 18k and create tiny granules. I place these granules with a 000 paint brush into the two rings in two sizes of granules and then carefully heat the piece using a mouth torch to the point of fusing. Each sphere is connected by a tangent of metal creating a sleek and beautiful surface.
