These delicate Wisteria earrings are cast in sterling silver from a Fine Silver granulated original. They have a sterling silver post and nut and can be set with amethyst faceted gem, garnet faceted gems, or blue topaz faceted gems. These Wisteria posts are very lightweight and can be worn all the time. Classy, unique and understated.
Granulation is an ancient fusing process utilized by the Etruscans and Mycenaeans for thousands of years. I melt Fine Silver to create tiny granules, wires, and sheet. I place these granules with a 000 paint brush and then carefully heat them using a mouth torch to the point of fusing. Each sphere is connected by a tiny tangent of metal creating a sleek and beautiful surface.
The gems are bezel set with a hammer and punch.
