These sterling silver hoops are cast in my studio (actually on the deck as casting needs good ventilation) from a granulated master for a limited edition series of hoops. I use fine silver for the original granulation, then make a mold, pull a wax copy from the mold, then cast using the lost wax process with a vacuum. Granulation is a fascinating and labor-intensive ancient fusing process that can only be done with certain alloys that are prone to fusing. Sterling silver is not one of those metals. Casting allows me to make this design in hard-to-fuse metals such as Sterling Silver and 14k gold.

These are the smallest in my series of Etruscan Hoop sizes - 15mm.

These hoops have a riveted hoop wire and catch with a satisfying snap.
