This lovely rainbow moonstone has a terrific shine! This rainbow moonstone cabochon is bezel-set in a Fine Silver disc with 18k gold granulation. I love making these discs. They are so meditative and calming for me to make! I hope they are to wear as well. This moonstone beauty is elegant and alive with color!

Granulation is a controlled fusing process that has been utilized for thousands of years. I alloy 24k gold down to 18k gold to create granules and wire and roll out Fine SIlver to create sheet for the discs. The granules are then individually placed and fused with a mouth torch to the disk. For this disc, the rainbow moonstone was selected from my stash for its bluest blue color. I cut a seat for the stone in the center ring after the granulation was completed and hand-hammered the bezel-setting to capture the cabochon.
