This elegant pendant has a deep pink tourmaline cabochon bezel-set in my signature 18k rich green gold alloy with 18k granulation in a single row around the outside of the bezel. This lovely 18k gold pendant can be purchased with a gold chain the length of your choice or a silver chain or you can order the pendant alone to go with your own chain. Classic, elegant, and understated. I love the play of light on the gold granules.
Granulation is an ancient fusing process utilized by the Etruscans and Mycenaeans for thousands of years. I alloy 24k gold down to a very specific rich gold 18k and create tiny granules, wires, and sheet. I place these granules with a 000 paint brush and then carefully heat them using a mouth torch to the point of fusing. Each sphere is connected by a tiny tangent of metal creating a sleek and beautiful surface.
